Vibration Isolator Building Isolation Materials For Wall Isolators
Wall vibration isolator is a effective vibration isolating clip among isolation materials used on wall to reduce vibration noise. It’s unusually installed between wall and traditional wall profile. With vibration isolators, there is no solid contact between wall and finish wall panel, thus the vibration noise can be largely reduced and room noise isolation can be largely reduced. Besides vibration isolator, we also have acoustic mount clip which has similar function.

When using this system on isolation wall system, make sure that the first drywall seams are aligned on the centerline of the horizontal furring channel. All potential sound leaks – exits, gaps around windows or door frames; pipe penetrations should be sealed with a non-hardened acoustic sealant. Continue to cover the wall with a 40mm elastic channel spaced from the center. Gypsum wallboard will be installed on the flexible channel to reduce vibration and sound isolation between the drywall and the wall frame.
Doors, lights and HVAC vents are other ways of sound coming in and out of the room and should be considered part of your plan. There are isolation sound products on the market for handling all three products, such as insulated pipes, dead vents, special caulking, weatherproof doors, air lock double doors and built-in lightweight support boxes. An unsealed socket box is a known sound leak in a stud wall assembly. Walls designed for noise control will not achieve the desired results when unsealing, especially when the outlets are back to back in the same stud cavity. The exit pad can be manually formed around the rear of the outlet box to prevent this common sound leakage problem in the stud wall.
